Angelika Stangl is violinist and oboist specialising in historical performance. She has played with various ensembles including the Hanover Band, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Ex Cathedra, Yorkshire Baroque Soloists, I Fagiolini, Manchester Camerata and the Orion Orchestra, where she was involved with recordings in Abbey Road. She has also performed at the Wigmore Hall with Florilegium. She holds a First-Class Honours degree from the University of York where she received the David Blake Prize for Outstanding Contribution to Symphony Orchestra and performed the Strauss Oboe Concerto as a prize winner of the York Concerto Competition. Angelika graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in 2021 receiving an MA with Distinction in Historical Performance and the Frank Britton Award. She has been generously supported by the Countess of Munster Trust, the Kathleen Trust, the Zetland Foundation, the Hockerill Educational Trust and the Clive and Sylvia Richards Trust. She plays on a violin made in 1914 by Paul Kaul and a bow by JJ. Martin.

Julia graduated with a Masters from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London in 2015. At Trinity she held the TCL and Len Smith & Felicity Young scholarships and was taught by Diana Cummings. Her most recent teacher was Michal Cwizewicz. Julia collaborates with musicians in a variety of musical landscapes. She played solo violin for the musical ‘Allegiance’, which ran at the Charing Cross Theatre, and performed video-game music from ‘Call of Duty’ at the Troxy with orchestral band and choir. She regularly plays with Brixton Chamber Orchestra who combine Classical with Grime music! She has taken string quartet masterclasses from the Carducci, Wihan and Brodsky Quartets with performances at many London churches and the Undercroft Theatre in Eastbourne. Passionate about music education, she coaches and performs with Merton Music Foundation students at their biennial concert at the Royal Albert Hall. Julia was chosen to partake in the Britten-Pears orchestra conducted by Antonio Pappano, as a Britten-Pears Young Artist 2020. Julia has always been captivated by stories, and their power of engaging and evoking emotions. She is enthusiastic about using her own art to explore human feelings and expression.

Hannah is a baroque and modern violist based in London. She read for her undergraduate degree in English Literature at King's College, Cambridge, and her masters at the Royal Academy of Music, where she studied with Jon Thorne, Martin Outram, and Annette Isserlis. She splits her time as a performer between Baroque viola, on which she has played with groups including the English Baroque Soloists, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, and La Nuova Musica, and the modern viola, primarily as a Chamber Musician. She currently performs with the Eledone Quartet and Duo Alti, with whom she has commissioned and premiered several new works for viola duo. Highlights include being selected as a Park Lane Group young artist for 2020 and winning the 2019 St Martin-in-the-Fields competition (both with the Brompton Quartet) and the inaugural Roscommon Chamber Festival.

Dublin-born cellist and historical cellist Alistair Baumann is a musician whose love of music is primarily driven by the opportunities it affords for collaboration, whether as a performer or an educator. Alistair is an alumnus of the University of York and the Royal College of Music. He has performed at venues such as Westminster Abbey, Milton Court, Smith Square, and the Tower of London. As a soloist, highlights include the Elgar Cello Concerto and Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto No. 1 with Southern Pro Musica, and CPE Bach’s A Major Cello Concerto with the Nonesuch Orchestra. He has worked in orchestral settings with the BBC Singers and Waterperry Opera Festival, as well as performing at the York Early Music Festival and the European Union’s Europe Day celebrations. Away from performing, Alistair regularly teaches cello and piano. His extra-musical passions include football, Formula 1, and baking (quickly followed by eating) cakes.
